The owner of Package Costa Rica, Scott Bowers, decided to launch this business venture as a partnership with the indigenous of Costa Rica. Therefore, we are fully committed to dealing with them as partners and providing them with an outlet to market their crafts to the world and receive a fair compensation for it. We are also committed to discovering other ways to "get involved" and maybe even "get you involved" in helping the indigenous of Costa Rica preserve their timeless traditions and cultures, not only for our enjoyment, but so those traditions and cultures will be passed forward to future generations and not tossed aside on the dust heap of "human progress."

This site and this business venture are really about sustainability. To us "sustainability" is found in managing our interactions so as to bring about impacts that facilitate ecological endurance. There are many ways to do this and one of the ways we choose is CostaRicanArtisans.com. We choose this vehicle because facilitating the endurance of the diverse traditions and cultures of the indigenous is essential to overall ecological endurance in Costa Rica, in our humble opinion. These people are part of what makes Costa Rica so incredibly special, just as important as its verdant jungles, teaming biodiversity and pristine beaches.

But the fact is that they are a special part that has often been overlooked and neglected. Therefore, our hope is that what we can accomplish with this site could play some role in the prosperity of indigenous cultures in Costa Rica.

First, we buy our products straight from the source, without the assistance of any broker or middleman. Therefore, you can be 100% assured that your piece of Costa Rican Indigenous art is what it claims to be... purely indigenous. We accept no substitutes, even though there are plenty of those to be found in souvenir stores all over the country. Second, we guarantee timely delivery (within 30 days of order) and if the piece is not received in perfect condition, we'll give you your money back upon return of the product. We maintain a small inventory of art and each piece you will find in our "shopping cart" is in stock.

However, if you are interested in more volume than we have, or a unique piece not in stock, just let us know and we can special order for you. Part of what we offer is to bring original Costa Rican indigenous art to your doorstep without you having to make the trip yourself.
